Ergonomic Multi-Screen Workstation I-Kube®
he flexibility of the ergonomic multi-screen workstation I-Kube® and its numerous options allow it to adapt to various sectors, especially trading rooms and crisis rooms
Trading rooms
Like all concepts developed by Craie Design, the I-Kube® adapts to your needs (dimensions, finishes, screens, etc.) and allows different configurations based on available space and constraints of your trading room.
The I-Kube® has independent electric adjustments for the tabletop and screens, allowing variation between sitting and standing positions and preventing musculoskeletal disorders. This ergonomic workstation adjusts to the user’s morphology, providing comfortable seating regardless of the workstation… Flex office compliant.
The I-Kube® is also frequently chosen to equip control rooms, dispatch rooms, command centers, or security workstations
Crisis room
The COVID-19 pandemic reminded us in 2020 that a company or administration may need to activate a crisis management center to deal with a critical situation (natural or technological disasters, health, ecological, political, economic, banking, or financial crises).
This crisis center is organized in a room where all information flows are centralized, and decisions are made. Ideally, this space should be equipped with technological furniture, but also flexible, as it often serves only during the “crisis” and transforms back into a meeting or training room.
Here is an example of two crisis rooms that we equipped with ergonomic multi-screen workstations I-Kube®:
- The crisis management room at the CIC (Interministerial Crisis Center) is regularly activated: recently, following the attack outside the former offices of Charlie Hebdo, the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, and the Yellow Vest movement since November 2018. It can also be activated for events such as plane crashes like the Germanwings A320 in 2015 or natural disasters like Hurricane IRMA in 2017.
- The Ministry of the Interior trusted Craie Design a few years ago for the installation of about thirty adjustable-height ergonomic I-Kube® workstations at Beauvau. They enable the extremely rapid setup of an operational situation room, essential for the proper coordination of the various involved ministries. The ergonomic design of the workstation is crucial for the duration and level of tension involved.
